Message	I'm not sure that's true. People typically run an electric fan on a track setup b/c you can keep the fan running after you shut off the car. Same goes for an electric water pump. Also, because the electric draw is the same, independent of RPM. Not necessarily b/c it's more or less efficient. Electric fan setups like SPAL don't come with a fan shroud that why you see Zs without a shroud. Also why people use the Volvo writeup. Regardless of which fan you use, both would be better with a fan shroud installed.
